Acta Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Acta you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop using the app.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are separate documents. On first launch we ask you separately whether you agree to the Privacy Policy: declining it, or withdrawing consent later, does not stop you from using Acta on your device. The app enters Limited Mode (Section 2); you do not need to delete the app.
2. Limited Mode
If you do not agree to the Privacy Policy, or withdraw consent in Settings → Privacy Center, the app enters Limited Mode:
- Available: daily records, awareness, review, growth records, local reminders, writing to a calendar named “知行录” (other events are not read), voice input (recognition runs on the device only and is not sent to Apple's servers; unavailable if the device cannot do that; audio is not kept), already-downloaded on-device models, backup/export and Reset Data (deletes only data on the device, not records in iCloud), the Apple Watch app and widgets;
- Unavailable: purchasing or restoring Pro, Acta Pro features, iCloud sync, Sign in with Apple, cloud AI, the lock-screen wallpaper gallery and model downloads; the app makes no network requests for these features;
- Paying members cannot use Pro features in Limited Mode either, because the app cannot verify membership. Your Apple subscription is not paused or cancelled and will keep renewing; to stop it, cancel in system Settings (Section 4.3);
- After you withdraw consent, you can keep using the local features above. Cloud AI, diagnostics and analytics are turned off, iCloud sync stops, and the app signs you out of Sign in with Apple. Data already synced or already sent is not deleted. If you agree again later, these options stay off until you turn them back on.
You can agree to the Privacy Policy in the app at any time to leave Limited Mode.
3. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, rent, resell, or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
4. Membership (Acta Pro) and purchases
Some features (including iCloud sync, as shown on the paywall) require “Acta Pro”. Purchasing, restoring and using Pro require that you have agreed to the Privacy Policy.
4.1 Price and billing period
Acta Pro is offered as auto-renewing subscriptions. The actual price, billing period and free-trial length are those shown on the paywall and the App Store payment sheet, and may vary by region, currency and Apple's pricing tiers.
4.2 Auto-renewal rules
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase;
- The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period;
- Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period;
- If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends;
- If you purchase the same subscription during a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited;
- Price changes are notified in advance under Apple's rules and, where required, with your consent.
4.3 How to cancel
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Uninstalling the app, erasing data in the app, withdrawing consent to the Privacy Policy or deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel in Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Acta → Cancel Subscription. After cancelling you can keep using paid features until the end of the current period (except in Limited Mode, see Section 2).
4.4 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple; refunds must be requested from Apple under its policies. We cannot issue refunds directly: reportaproblem.apple.com
4.5 Restore purchases
After changing devices or reinstalling, tap “Restore Purchases” on the paywall to restore with the same Apple Account. After Sign in with Apple, the server links purchase records to your Apple Account so Pro can be restored across devices. Restoring is unavailable in Limited Mode. When you delete your account, the app asks you to verify with Apple again; the server deletes your customer record at a third-party subscription service, replaces the identity in purchase events with a pseudonym, and revokes the Apple authorization. That does not cancel the Apple subscription.
5. Your content
All content you create in the app belongs to you; we claim no ownership.
- Your records stay on your device by default, and in your own iCloud private database (CloudKit) if you enable sync. “Reset Data” in the app deletes only data on the device, not records in iCloud; if sync is still on, those records may come back the next time the device syncs. Our server does not store your records, tasks, awareness answers or reviews, and we do not use your content to train models.
- When you choose to use cloud AI, the relevant content is sent to the provider you have selected; see Section 6 and the Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for the lawfulness of your content and for keeping backups (iCloud sync or Backup & Export).
6. AI features
AI review assistance is optional and works in two ways:
- On-device model: runs on your device after download; content stays on the device;
- A third-party AI service you configure: uses your own API key and is processed by that provider under its terms, including availability, billing and data handling;
Before you first use a third-party AI service you configure, the app asks for your separate consent; you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy Center. One consent covers all cloud AI providers you later choose; switching providers does not ask again. How data is handled and where it goes is governed by the Privacy Policy.
AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is for personal growth reference only; it is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If you are facing health or emotional difficulties, please consult a qualified professional. We are not responsible for third-party providers' availability, output quality or billing.
7. Our server and online features
We operate a server (api.done2ai.com) to verify membership, keep purchase records (after account deletion, identifiers are replaced with pseudonyms and financial fields such as amounts are kept), process account deletion, provide the public wallpaper gallery, and, after you turn on usage analytics, store aggregated usage counts. Details are in the Privacy Policy. These online features depend on the network and third-party infrastructure and may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or outages; on-device records are not affected.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app unlawfully, not to interfere with the app or our server, and not to bypass membership checks or access unauthorised features. We may restrict or stop your use of online features if you breach this section.
9. Changes and termination
We may update, adjust or discontinue features from time to time. If a material change makes paid features unavailable, we will handle it under Apple's rules. You may stop using the app at any time. Withdrawing consent to the Privacy Policy does not terminate these Terms; you can continue using the app in Limited Mode. You can delete your account in account settings; the effects are described in Section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages; our total liability does not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Apple Standard EULA
Except as otherwise stated in these Terms, your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where they conflict, the terms more favourable to you prevail. Full text: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula
You acknowledge that Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the app; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Relationship with the Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect personal information is governed by the Privacy Policy (done2ai.com/privacy/en). Where these Terms and the Privacy Policy differ on personal information, the Privacy Policy prevails.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). Disputes shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, either party may bring the dispute to a competent people's court where the operator is located. Where mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction differ, those mandatory rules prevail.
14. Changes to these Terms
When these Terms change we update the “Last updated” date; for material changes we notify you prominently in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms; changes affecting personal information are subject to renewed consent under the Privacy Policy.
